The PSAD Study Group was founded by Frank Snoek from The Netherlands, with the support of the EASD Council. A founding business meeting of PSAD was held in September 1995, in Stockholm, Sweden. The official endorsement was prepared in 1996. The PSAD was officially endorsed as EASD study group by the 33rd General Assembly of the EASD in July 1997, on the occasion of the EASD annual meeting in Helsinki, Finland.
